Sophia Harper-Hague, MA, SCMT, MT-BC
Primary Therapist
Sophia has been working in the mental health field since 2020, after earning their Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Utah State University. They began their career focusing on forensic care in St. Louis, Missouri, before transitioning to work primarily with adolescents in long-term residential treatment. Their approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and expressive therapies, with a strong emphasis on music therapy. Sophia has since earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Music Therapy and is currently on track for full licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC).
Sophia deeply understands the unique challenges that teens and their families face throughout the recovery journey. As both a music therapist and counselor, they integrate trauma-informed and somatic approaches while creating a safe, creative space to explore the complex emotions that often arise during long term treatment.
Sophia has experience with a wide array of therapeutic interventions including Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Sophia has experience with a wide range of neurodiverse clientele, and always approaches their practice through a neuroaffirming framework, recognizing that each student requires an approach that is as unique and special as they are.
As a lifelong musician, Sophia has prioritized being a member of various orchestras as a cellist, and loves to play piano as a way to relax. Outside of music, Sophia enjoys rock climbing, crocheting, and experimenting with all kinds of food in the kitchen.
