WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER

La Europa Academy is an arts-based Residential Treatment program for youth, assigned female at birth, ages 14-17.  La Europa Academy integrates visual arts, music, dance, and photography to help our students heal through creative expression.  We combine a nurturing home-like environment, a sophisticated clinical approach tailored to specific needs, and a strong academic curriculum.

As a Youth Mentor, you will help provide a safe and nurturing environment for our students as they engage in daily programmatic activities; you will be given tools to help motivate and support them in their recovery journey. Applicants must bring a positive attitude to work, be flexible, and dependable, have good communication skills, and an ability to prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environment.

Our mentor staff are the front line in the care and safety of our students and are instrumental in helping students improve their communication, manage anxiety, improve self-esteem, and make more productive choices. We work with students who might struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, or attachment issues.

Many of our leaders and clinicians began as mentors, discovered the magic of this work, and since have devoted their careers to being a part of it. We value diversity in our company and offer an array of support for our students, including but not limited to, groups focusing on LGBTQ+, BIPOC, Adoption, and SMART recovery. We also run a biweekly staff support group tailored specifically to our Youth Mentors and the support they need.
