Shauna Chacon, LCMHC

Shauna Chacon holds a Master of Science degree and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). She has over twenty years of experience as a licensed therapist, working with complex family systems in varied settings, including the court system and educational settings. Shauna has worked in an outpatient setting and provided in-home therapeutic services to families at-risk for out of home placements.
Shauna enjoys working with adolescents, as she truly appreciates their honesty and humor. Shauna connects with her clients by establishing a relationship based on trust, compassion, and humor in order to build an alliance to help the client understand “we are on the same team!” Shauna helps her clients connect the day-to-day patterns and issues that play out in the treatment world to their "real world" experiences, reminding her clients "wherever you go, there you are!"
Shauna has over 10 year's experience working with neurodivergent clients. She has found the use of RO-DBT to connect and help them understand patterns and behaviors that may be causing disconnect in their day-to-day relationships.
Shauna uses a variety of therapeutic models, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), MI (Motivational Interviewing), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy), SFBT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy), Family Systems Therapy, and ERP (Exposure Response Prevention), RO-DBT (Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy), EFFT (Emotion Focused Family Therapy); IFS (Internal Family Systems) and Brain-spotting.
Shauna enjoys traveling, attending concerts, photography and spending time with her family.
