Denise has over 20 years of professional experience working in residential treatment. Denise holds a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). She has worked in an administrative position as an Assistant Clinical Director. Denise has tremendous enthusiasm for working with adolescents and their families. She has expertise working with adolescents and the challenges they can face with emotional and behavioral problems, learning disorders, social skills, and communication issues within their family.

Denise has an extensive background working with addiction, anxiety, depression, self-harm, adoption, attachment issues, trauma, shame, low self-esteem, learning deficits, ADD, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She understands the struggle that parents have when making the difficult decision to have their child leave home for treatment. Denise’s desire is to empower parents and their child so they can overcome the challenges they have been facing at home. Her goal is to coach them on how they can work together to achieve healthier and happier relationships within the family unit.

Denise’s time in residential treatment has allowed her to utilize various types of therapeutic approaches, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and Family Systems (understanding the emotional patterns within the family). Denise knows that every student she works with is unique, so she strives to learn about them and understand their individual needs.

Denise has attained insight from being a parent herself. She has three married children and eight beautiful grandchildren (7 girls and 1 boy). Denise and her husband are devoted to spending time with their family whenever they can. They both enjoy going on cruises and traveling anywhere possible (especially to Munich, Germany which is where their son lives).
