Myken is a Certified Social Worker and has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Myken obtained a bachelor's degree in Social Work at Utah Valley University, then went on and attended the University of Utah for her Master's Degree in Social Work. She has experience in day treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient therapy working mainly with adolescents and their families. Her experience includes working with ADHD, Depression, Suicidal ideation and self harm, Anxiety, Grief, Trauma, and LGBTQIA+ populations. Myken's work focuses on using DBT, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Lifespan Integration.

Myken has a passion for mental health and believes that everyone is trying the best that they can with the skills and knowledge that they have. She believes therapy is most effective when clients can build a trusting relationship with their therapist, and she works to have clients feel seen, heard, and believed in her office. She works from a strengths based approach helping clients to recognize coping patterns that are no longer working for them, and to replace them with skills that are more functional in their daily lives. This includes helping them develop distress tolerance and emotional regulation skills, improving social skills, and working through trauma.

Myken was born and raised in Northern Utah and played soccer growing up.  She spent time in her early adulthood living in Colorado and abroad in Germany.  She currently lives in the Salt Lake Valley with her husband and their pet chameleon.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, attending yoga and gym classes, watching and playing sports, and trying new restaurants and foods.
