Darrell, a native Texan, received his Master's Degree in Educational Psychology/Special Education (Mild to Moderate Disabilities) with a Gifted & Talented Endorsement from Brigham Young University. He is an engaged, creative, & dedicated Secondary School Special Education teacher. Darrell is very experienced in teaching highschool. Prior to accepting a position at La Europa Academy Darrell taught many different subjects including: English, History, and even Sciences. He is also a certified Cognitive Behavioral Life Coach/Educator with an emphasis on helping people going through substance abuse recovery.

As an educator, Darrell believes that every student is of infinite value with unlimited potential. Further, each student possesses their own unique set of talents and gifts; therefore, his role is to foster trust between himself and the student so they can believe in themselves, learn and strive to release their potential.

He is an avid traveler who has visited over 26 countries! He’s been everywhere from the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, to the Aegean Sea, backpacking across China, and even meditating with Buddhist monks in a remote Tibetan monastery. Darrel is also a voracious reader, enjoys the outdoors, and loves spending time with his wife and six children.
