Many of our students are passionate about connecting with and helping animals. La Europa is connected with the Intermountain Therapy Animal organization and arranges for a therapy dog to come on campus for bi-weekly visits. A number of staff bring their certified therapy dogs to the residence on a regular basis. Our students also participate in regular community service at the Humane Society.

La Europa Academy has begun a new partnership with the Community Animal Welfare Society (CAWS) of Utah.  CAWS is a no-kill, volunteer and foster-based nonprofit organization whose mission is working with the community to help animals.  It is Utah’s oldest animal rescue group and provides on-going rescue, foster, education and adoption programs to help animals who have been abandoned.  La Europa will periodically be fostering kittens until they are ready to be adopted.  “There is so much therapeutic value for our students in helping these animals,” says Robbi O’Kelley, Executive Director.  “It’s going to be hard for the students to see our kittens adopted out to good homes, but that’s all part of the process of serving our community.”
