Family Days
Once students have become stable in their new environment, their parents and sometimes their siblings are invited to participate in a long weekend of therapy and activities at the La Europa campus. These Family Days take place every eight weeks, and we place a high priority on the attendance of our families. Family Days include the following types of activities: Family therapy with primary therapist, family groups with therapists, parent support group with therapists, recreational therapy, dance, and art groups for families, parent-teacher conferences, scheduled consultations with nursing and/or psychiatric staff, off-campus therapeutic assignments from the therapist and recreational therapist, as well as a talent show put on by the students themselves! Families also have plenty of time during these weekends to enjoy each other and some of the fun cultural and outdoor activities available in and around Salt Lake City.
Arbinger workshop: All students and their parents will participate in a day-long workshop with an Arbinger-trained facilitator. Families will usually attend during their first experience with Parent Days. The workshop is designed to invite each member of the family to look at his/her own beliefs and experiences that contribute to the way they interact in relationships. Each member of the family will receive a copy of "The Choice Handbook" and "The Anatomy of Peace" as a part of the workshop. If a family wishes to have more than three members of their family participate in the workshop, they may do so for $60 per person for materials. Once a person has been through the workshop, they may participate again if they desire to do so at no additional cost.
