The Ownership and Management of La Europa is committed to the continued progress of the program and each of the students here. As such, all of our directors have extensive experience in the Residential Treatment field. We meet weekly as directors to ensure that all aspects of the program are working together for the maximum benefit of our students and their families.

Kent Tasso
Owner
Kent received his B.A. from Brigham Young University in 1991. Kent began his career teaching high school students in northern Utah. In 1999, Kent left teaching to serve as the Development Director for the private schools of A Gifted Education in San Jose, California. Here he more fully was exposed to the concept of treating every child as a “gifted child” and offering a broadly diversified enrichment program. He moved back to Utah in 2001 and co-founded CERTS while launching Kolob Canyon Residential Treatment Center initially, and then later Moonridge Academy and La Europa Academy. Kent has a deep love for people and for foreign languages (fluent in Japanese and French) and has lived in various parts of the world. |

Craig Rodabough, LMFT
Executive Director of CERTS
Craig oversees the four CERTS programs: La Europa Academy, Kolob Canyon RTC, Moonridge RTC and Mountain Springs Preparatory Academy. He holds an M.S. from Brigham Young University and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with twenty years of experience working with youth and their families. In addition to being a therapist he has worked as a Director of Admission, Regional Director of Business Development, Clinical Services Director, and Executive Director. Mr. Rodabough has also volunteered as a Board Member for the Utah Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP). His work with NATSAP includes participation on the Membership committee, Chairing the Member Services Committee and Chairing the 2007 national conference. He has presented at several national conferences on adoption issues and family system interventions. When not at work Craig enjoys being with his wife and three children. They enjoy hiking, playing cards, reading and being together. |

Nora Urbanelli, LCSW
Director
Nora graduated from Brigham Young University with Masters degree in Social work. She is currently licensed as an L.C.S.W. Nora has been working with adolescent girls and families for the past four years. She has a strong background in working with and treating adolescents and adults who struggle with addiction issues. Nora is also trained in DBT. She has spent time during her career studying the effects of sexual trauma on adolescent girls and has developed a group for students who sexually act. She presented this curriculum at a national conference for therapeutic schools along with new tools she had developed to aid students in overcoming the trauma. Nora has also been instrumental in training staff to process in effective ways with students and has created many trainings specifically to help staff develop healthy relationships, communication styles and model them to students as well as connect to students in a way that allows for mentoring to work. She has also studied and implemented ways to help students and families access the core issues that create barriers to change. Nora is an expert in family therapy and very clinically based in family systems theory. She is known for her ability to balance relationship issues with reconstructing family boundaries allow for even the toughest family systems to reconnect. |

Kori Mayeski, M.A. Educational Leadership
Education Director
Kori earned her undergraduate degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. After teaching in both Middle School and High School, Kori continued her education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership/Administration. At both the University of Tennessee and Georgia Tech, Kori worked with freshman students in their transition to college. She taught an introductory Psychology course helping students adjust to their new environment. Prior to becoming the Education Director at La Europa, Kori served as an Assistant Education Director for an all-girl residential treatment center for almost 4 years. She designed La Europa's Education Program and ensures that our students receive the best academic education. Kori coordinates with the teachers to provide an individualized, college-preparatory curriculum designed to both challenge and support the young women who attend La Europa Academy. |

Melissa D. Negrete
Director of Operations
Melissa comes to La Europa Academy with management experience within the Medical field. She has worked in many industries including being a cosmetologist. Melissa enjoys working with people and performing duties in Business Administration. She has been married for 12 years and has 3 children. Melissa enjoys being outdoors, sporting events, going to movies with her family, traveling, motivating others, and being of service. She is excited to be a part of the La Europa Academy Team. |

David Mayeski, L.C.S.W.
Admissions Director
David has worked in residential treatment for the last five years serving as a primary therapist, utilization review coordinator and admissions director. He received his Bachelors in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland at College Park. Later he earned his Master in Social Work from the University of South Carolina at Columbia. David has taught credited courses at both the University of Tennessee Knoxville and Georgia Institute of Technology in adjusting to college for freshman. David brings a clinical perspective to the Admissions Department and will be happy to assist you in answering your questions, explaining our programs, and how they can benefit your family. |

Courtney Merrill, MFTI
Clinical Director
Courtney Merrill earned her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University and her BA in Psychology from Purdue University. She has been working with adolescents and their families for over seven years, with over four years at La Europa Academy. Courtney has a strong background in working with individuals with eating disorders and their families as well as adolescents with addiction and behavior issues. Her clinical background is in family systems theory and she feels strongly that most problems and most solutions occur in the context of relationships. She loves being a part of the process as adolescents and their families change their hearts as a result of individuals taking responsibility for their choices and for their relationships. Courtney has presented to numerous groups of young women on the issues of body image, eating disorders, and self-esteem and has developed therapeutic groups to address those issues. She is thrilled to be a part of the La Europa clinical team. |

Richard Long, CSW
Program Director/Therapist
Richard is from the great state of South Carolina and has worked in the helping professions industry since 2001, with experience in wilderness therapy, in-home counseling for Child Protective Services, and residential treatment. Richard attended the College of Charleston, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Anthropology, and Arizona State University, where he received his Master of Social Work degree. Additionally, Richard is a trained Arbinger facilitator since 2005. Richard has been married to his wife, Amber, since 2003 and they have two wonderful daughters, Kaya and Sadie. Richard is active in his local church and enjoys snowboarding, basketball, road and mountain biking, and hiking. |

Sydel Morris-Greco, MSED
Assistant Education Director/Special Education Coordinator
Sydel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English in December 2000 from Wagner
College in Staten Island, New York. She was enrolled in a 5 year Master's
program there and received her MSED in Secondary Education in May 2001. She
continued her education at Utah State University and earned a Special Education
teaching credential there in June 2002. Sydel's family still lives in New
Jersey where she grew up, and she enjoys going home to visit as much as
possible to eat bagels, Chinese food and taylor ham sandwiches! Every summer,
she travels as a Primary Delegation Leader with 5th and 6th grade students on
international programs with People to People. She has had the opportunity to
explore England, Scotland, Australia, Italy and Greece. Sydel enjoys teaching
"reluctant learners" and can be found doing so from the tops of desks, wearing
a tutu or jumping up and down to get her student's attention. Prior to joining
the team here, Sydel taught locally at an alternative high school for 11th-12th
graders for four years and a residential treatment facility for two. Aside
from her administrative duties at La Europa, she coordinates the special
education services and does the academic advising for students A-M. |
