The
building and campus at La Europa Academy was carefully
chosen. It is centrally located in the Salt Lake City
area and is a short twenty-five minute drive from the
Salt Lake International Airport. Yet the setting is
truly unusual for a youth treatment center.
Formerly a celebrity-frequented, elegant micro-hotel
described by the Salt Lake Visitors Bureau as the
“closest thing to the Ritz-Carlton in the state of
Utah,” and by Outposts Magazine as “topnotch”
(March/April, 1996), La Europa Academy provides an
outstanding setting for a special place of healing. The
grounds are quiet and often described as “park-like.”
Large trees provide a sense of solitude and tranquility
that compliments therapy and our emphasis on art, drama,
and music.
Three to four girls sleep in bedrooms that are well
maintained and beautiful. Each room is named after
different cities in Europe where famous artists or
musicians resided. Some of the rooms have items
reminiscent of that particular city in order to spark
historical interest in those places amongst the girls.
Each bedroom has its own bathroom. A large common area
and patio provide space for the girls to unwind. Virtual
tours are available for the
building and for the grounds.
In February 2006, La Europa Academy anticipates breaking
ground on two new wings that will satisfy additional
educational and office needs as the program grows to
further accommodate the needs of our girls.
