The clinical team at La Europa Academy
At La Europa we use a team approach to treatment to ensure that comprehensive care is being provided. Our treatment team includes:
- Parents
- Therapist
- Psychiatrist
- Clinical Director
- Residential Director
- Academic Director
- Art Therapist
- Recreational Therapist
- Team Leaders from the residential staff
- Student
Each student is reviewed by the whole team twice a month. Therapists meet with the Clinical Director weekly for clinical supervision and students are discussed regularly at that time as well. Extra meetings are scheduled with the team as needed to help students move forward.
As part of our team approach, we schedule a Team Meeting teleconference with parents after their daughter has been at La Europa for three weeks. The purpose of this call is to outline the treatment plan. The Clinical Director, Residential Director, Academic Director and Therapist discuss the parents' goals for treatment, review with parents the assessment information on their daughter, educate parents about the Stages of Change to help them set realistic expectations for their daughter's progress and establish a treatment and academic plan.
After a student has reached Level 3 at La Europa, the department directors and therapist meet with the student to discuss her progress, update action plans and modify as needed. In these Treatment Team Reviews, we allow the student to reflect on her progress, get valuable feedback from the treatment team and adjust her direction for the future if needed.
